Govind Panthi grew up in a modest family, embracing the values of helping others and standing against injustice. His mother often told him, "Go hungry for a day if you must, but feed the hungry."Born on Falgun 16, 2031 BS (circa 1975 AD) in Gulmi District, he was the youngest of five children of Mr. Shobhakhar Panthi and Late Nim Kumari Panthi. He completed his SLC in 2047 BS and joined Nepal Law Campus in 2048 BS, aspiring to be a lawyer or judge. However, in 2051 BS, he became an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in Nepal Police. While serving, he earned a law degree and a master’s in public administration.

Despite ideological clashes with superiors, he served with integrity, enduring 28 transfers in 30 years. Known for his commitment to justice, he exposed corruption, fought crime, and was honored with 28 awards, including the Janaservice Shree Medal. He dedicated a long period to the fight against human trafficking and was honored with an international award for his efforts. While serving at the Valley Crime Investigation Office, he made significant contributions to controlling foreign employment fraud and regulating visit visas, earning multiple awards for his work. Additionally, during his tenure at the Sakhu Police Unit, he became the first Nepal Police officer to be publicly recognized and awarded by the community for meeting public expectations through his remarkable service. His fearless stance once led to 14 days of undeclared house arrest, but a later investigation cleared his name, and he was recognized by the Head of State.

After 30 years of service, he retired at 48 and established the Sarokar Legal Research and Consultation Center, providing free legal aid to the underprivileged. Sharma is working very diligently and cleverly in investigative journalism. He has been writing mainly in the fields of Geography, local level, local administration, foreign regions and security. The issues raised by Jeevan Sharma through the media have contributed significantly to the Nepal government's revenue collection. He has been subjected to death threats, fear, intimidation, and greed simply because he writes news.

He has been writing against the big corruption, injustice and irregularity in Nepal. He has rescued about 33 Nepalis stranded in foreign employment and brought them back to Nepal. Which is a very difficult task for a journalist. However, Sharma is always serving through journalism..
